Christopher Coffey Henson

OBITUARY: C.C. Henson Dies In Chicago, Ill.
Christopher Coffey Henson, 94 years of age, prominent retired farmer of this county, died at the home of his son, Joseph Henson, in Chicago, Ill., January 8.
Mr. Henson was born in Casey County but moved to Adair County at an early age, where he resided until the past few months. He was a highly respected citizen with a wide circle of friends throughout this section. He became a member of the Christian Church when a young man and served as an Elder of the Cane Valley Church for many years.
He married Miss Martha E. Henson on May 6, 1875 and they had twelve children. Four of the children survive, R.H. Henson, Cane Valley, Mrs. Bettie Wheeler, of Texas, Mrs. L.R. Rice, of Coburg, and Joseph Henson, of Chicago.
In November, 1923, he married Mrs. Lucy Stotts Campbell, who died a few years ago. Several stepchildren survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cane Valley Christian Church, conducted by Rev. H.J. Conover. Interment was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Prior to bringing the remains to Columbia a brief service was held at the Sobiest Funeral Home, in Chicago.
The pallbearers were: J.M. Hancock, Banks Hancock, Perry Cofer, John Smith, Wiley Feece and Finis Cundiff. Honorary pallbearers were: Bingham Moore, U.S Harmon and Guy Farris.
