William Charles Mahier

Information set to T.Mason on 2 Oct 2009 by John Orr. "Died in a plane crash serving with the RAF at Stranraer in Scotland. He was onboard a Stranraer class flying boat when it crashed into Lough Ryan. Ironically I believe he actualy drowned."

James Orr

Information sent to T.Mason by Sheila Phillips, Ballymartin, county Down, Ireland on 1 October 2009. "There was no Will or Administration for James - but his date of death is again in the gravestone transcriptions as dying on 27th May 1883 - aged 87. This is again I think a misreading and I go with the civil registration age, the date being within the quarter of the registration."

Ann or Agnes

Information sent to T.Mason by Sheila Phillips, Ballymartin, county Down, Ireland on 1 October 2009. "There is also on record the Administration of the Estate of his wife, Ann (or Agnes), who died in 1865 - as below:

Title:
Forename: Agnes
Surname: Orr
Alt Surname:
Date Of Death: 15/06/1865
Date Of Grant: 15/02/1869
Effects: Effects under £200
Registry: Belfast
Full Abstract:
Letters of Administration of the personal estate of Agnes Orr late of Benagh County Down deceased who died 15 June 1865 at same place were granted at Belfast to James Orr of Benagh (Kilkeel) aforesaid Farmer the Husband of said deceased.

The date for Ann conflicts slightly with the transcription of the gravestone - but I go with the date of the Administration. The gravestone inscription says she "was interred on 20th June 1863" - the year of which I think is misread from the aged stone."
