OBITUARY: MAGGIE VALLEY - Sherman Borden, 77, of Maggie Valley formerly of Conyers, Ga., passed away Saturday at his residence. He was born April 1, 1929 to the late McKinley and Alma Gertie Hambrick Borden.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by the mother of his children Dorothy Borden, one stepson Dan McConnell, one brother Mack Borden, two sisters Willie Windle and Kathleen Messer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Ellie Borden, two sons Jay Sherman Borden of Lilburn, Ga., and Jeffrey Mark Borden of Lilburn, Ga., one daughter Carla Allen and her husband Johnny of Lawrenceville, Ga., one stepson Ronald LaCasse and his wife Carol of Southgate, Mich., two stepdaughters Carol Schmer and her husband Ira of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Candace Miller and her husband Jack of Greensboro, Ga., one brother Grant Borden and one sister Betty Holloway both of Jasper, Ala., one granddaughter Leslie Allen, six step grandchildren Veronica, Helen, and Renee LaCasse, Jamie and Audrey Miller and Dylan Schmer.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday at the Chapel of Tom Wages Funeral Home in Snellville, Ga., The family will receive friends from from 10 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Tom Wages Funeral Home.
Burial will be held in the Eternal Hills Cemetery in Snellville, Ga.

Barrett was in the Armed Services. He was discharged on two occasions in Walker County, Alabama: Once on August 27, 1953 and the other July 22, 1957

OBITUARY: Birth: Sep. 5, 1932 - Death: Aug. 11, 2002 Barrott H. Borden Barrott H. Borden, 69, of Sumiton died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at BMC Princeton in Birmingham. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 14, 2002, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Morgan Cemetery. Rev. Doug Tate is officiating. Bell Funeral Home in Sumiton is directing. He retired from the U. S. Army National Guard after 30 years of service. He served in the Korean War. He also retired from the City of Birmingham Park and Recreation Department. He is survived by three daughters, Linda B. Smith of Mt. Olive, Jinnie Borden White and Brenda B. Cagle of Magnolia Springs; four sons, Timothy E. Ellis of Burnwell, Thomas M. and James A. Barnett of Cullman, and John B. Barnett of Mt. Olive; one sister, Jean Borden of Hoover; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
