"Orvil Mearl Fields Sr. and Esther May Bratcher Fields had 21 children. Betty was number 18, so she only knew about 10 of her brothers and sisters as the others had already left home. She knew Eddie, Ray, Shirley, Linda, J.R., Sharon, Billy, Betty(herself), Bud, Joyce, and Becky. She heard about the three oldest James, Frieda, and Jerrell “Eddie”; they died as young children. There were several children stillborn between these and were never given names. Betty is trying to piece together her family history (even her own brothers and sisters) but they are a scattered family and not very close."
