Isaac Newton Morris
1FindaGrave.com, http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=52473662. "He was the son of J.A. Morris and Mary Ann Button. Reported that the death certificate stated that his birth date was 1853, but the headstone clearly states 1857.Isaac Newton Morris was the son of Jordan A. Morris and Mary Ann (Button) Morris. He and his twin brother, John Jasper Morris, were the youngest siblings in a family of 12 children. Both of his parents died when he was very young. His mother died in 1854, so the date of birth on his tombstone (1857) is not accurate. His death certificate gives his date of birth as March 31, 1853, and in the 1860 census he was shown as age 7. In 1860 he lived in Lawrence County, Missouri in the household of his step-mother, Emeline (Mulkey) Morris. In 1870 he and his twin brother lived with his oldest sister and her family, Eliza and Andrew Pruitt in Lawrence County, Missouri.Soon after this he moved to Texas, and on February 15, 1874, he married Mrs. Martha S. "Matt" (Bynum) Ragsdale. She was a widow with two children. Isaac and Martha were parents of three children: Minnie, born in Nov., 1874; Eddie, born in 1876; and Maude, born in Dec., 1879. Isaac Morris was a farmer and lived in Cooke County, Texas until his death. He died of heart failure. His daughter, Minnie, married James Dooley Miller, and his daughter, Maude, married Dennis H. Lamb."

1FindaGrave.com, http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=17981676. "The above birth and death dates were taken from a family record book. In my opinion, the death date on the marker is incorrect. John Jasper Morris is the son of Jordan A. and Mary Ann (Button)Morris. He had a twin brother named, Issac Newton Morris. His parents died when he was very young, so he was raised by his sister Eliza and her husband Andrew J. Pruitt.John farmed and later drove cattle on the Chisom Trail.Somewhere in Missouri he met Virginia Belle Rice but he had to wait until she was 18 to marry her so he followed the Rice family down into Hill County,TX. and then to Grayson County,TX. He and Virginia married Sept.5, 1881. They owned and operated a grocery store in Marrietta, OK., before it became a state.John was 5' 10." He had reddish brunette hair and mustache. He was known as a very quiet person, but had a terrible temper. In 1907 they moved to Sanger, TX. There he worked as a section foreman for the railroad and then as a common laborer until his death due to a stroke.John and Virginia Belle had eight children:(1) Nevada b. 7/4/1882(2) Baby boy (Walter) died at birth(3) William Leftwick b.11/11/1887(4) Baby girl (Annie) b.1889 died a few days after birth.(5) Ambrose b. 1/27/1882(6) Flora Elizabeth b. 10/25/1898(7) Oscar b. 3/25/1903(8) Virgil b. 7/25/1900."

Virginia Belle Rice
1FindaGrave.com. "Virginia (Jeannie) Belle Rice is the daughter of William Clairborne Rice and Amanda Virginia Feasell Morris. She was one of nine children. She was raised in Missouri, Hill County,Texas, and Grayson County, Texas..She married John Jasper Morris March 31, 1881. She had eight children. She lived in Marietta, Ok. and then Sanger, Texas. Virginia was a tiny woman, 5 ft. or less and weighed about 110 lbs in her young womanhood. She was well known for good gardening, including vegetables and flowers and a very good cook. She was a sweet, kind, mild tempered, hard working, Christian (Baptist) lady. To pay the funeral expenses for her husband, she went to her baking powder can and counted out enough money for the entire cost." http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=17981610.

1FindaGrave.com, http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=51334431. "Wounded in Action, Private, Company H, 13th Missouri Cavalry Union, Civil War. Per death certificate: Parents, Jordan A. and Mary Button Morris, Wife Leona E. Morris Sidney Lewis Morris was born May 23, 1844, in Barren County, Kentucky, the son of Jordan A. and Mary Ann (Button) Morris. His middle name, Lewis, presumably, was taken from his father's brother. The Morris family migrated to Lawrence County, Missouri about 1850. Both of his parents died when he was quite young. He was named as an heir in the probate records of his father's estate, entered into the Lawrence County court September 14, 1859. The 1860 census found him living with siblings in the household of his step-mother, Emeline Morris, in Mt Pleasant township, Lawrence County, Missouri. He lived in this area the rest of his life making his living as a farmer. During the Civil War he served on the Union side as a private in Company H, 13th Missouri Cavalry (see copy of his military record to the right of this column). He was wounded in battle. In the 1890 Federal Census on the Special Schedule of surviving soldiers two enlistment dates are shown for him: from March 8, 1862 - September 1, 1864, and from September 1, 1864 to the date of his discharge on May 13, 1866. In this census record he indicated that he suffered from a war related disability; vertigo, caused by a gunshot wound in the head. On March 20, 1870 he married Leona Ellen (Elmira) Mann, daughter of Oliver Perry and Jeanetta (Moody) Mann in Lawrence County. They were parents of these children: Melissa F. (1872); Mary Jeanetta (1875); Albert B. (1876); Thera A. (1878); Huston J. (1879); Elsie E. (1881); Logan Athol (1883); Hattie (1884); Oscar L. (1891); Willis Perry (1893); and Harry V. (1896). According to his death certificate, Sidney Lewis Morris "dropped dead" due to aortic insufficiency on April 8, 1915, at Peirce City. He was buried April 11, 1915, in the Peirce City Cemetery."
