Last Monday afternoon at about 3 o'clock, Mr. W.H. Cook, a highly respected citizen of near this city died, after an extended illness of several months with lung trouble. His remains were interred Tuesday afternoon in Brookside Cemetery, in the presence of a large and sorrowful assembly of relatives and friends. Rev. J.S. Gatton preached the funeral discourse at the home of the deceased. Mr. Cook was an exemplary citizen and was an honest, honorable, upright christian gentleman, loved and highly respected by all who knew him. He was born February 28, 1845, and was married to Miss Josie Price, of Russell county, in 1868, and of this union two children survive him. He was married to Miss Kate Romine in 1889. They have one little boy. He professed Christ, 1894, and united with the Campbellsville Baptist church in March 1895. To his bereaved and affectionate wife, children, and relatives, we extend our deepest sympathy."

Romine, of the Meadow Creek section, died Friday at her home. Mrs. Romine professed faith in Christ at the early age of seven and united with the Greasy Creek Baptist Church in Russell County. She later moved her membership to Campbellsville, where she continued her religious activities until death. Deceased was married December 2, 1905. She is survived by her husband; a step-daughter, Mrs. R. A. Hord; five grandchildren; her step-mother; a half-brother; a niece and a nephew. She was a loving companion and mother and a kind neighbor. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Asbury church by the Rev. J. L. Robinson, pastor of the local Baptist church. Burial was in the Griffin Cemetery.
