John Holland

1Holland Family Records Compiled by Pat & James H. Holland, Provided to T.Mason in 1999. "John's mother, Elizabeth (Warren) Holland, was living with him in 1850, also his brothers Isaac T, Edward W. and his sister Elizabeth.  Was living in Putnam County, Missouri on the 1860's census. We find his mother, Elizabeth Warren Holland, Jacob Holland's wife living with them at this time. This list was taken from probate records of Jacob Holland by Nathaniel, which was transcribed by Dorthy Cunningham. These records indicate that Jacob Holland was living in Platte County, Missouri at the time of Nathaniel's death. Jacob's wife, Elizabeth was living Dodge-Putnam County with their son, John and wife. Information taken from the 1850 census. Jacob and Elizabeth's marriage perhaps was not a success as he tended to live with one of the children when not in the military service and Elizabeth was living with a different one. Records indicates that Elizabeth (Jacob's Wife) returned to Tennessee sometime in the 1860's prior to her death in 1868 and is buried in the Sevierville Cemetery near the foot hill of the Smoky Mountains where she lived prior to moving to Missouri. John later went to Columbia, California located in Tuolumne county, along with his twin brother Thomas to the Gold Fields."
