OVER THE MOUNTAIN MEN, by Anne Lowry Worrell in 1934 which gives a
probate date of May 1813 in Botetourt Co. Names wife, Elizabeth; and ch
Jacob; Benjamin; Elizabeth Harvey; Mary M'ferran; Joseph; Sally Holestine; and Isaac.

Elizabeth Shrider

Nicholas Carper married Elizabeth Shrider possibly in PA or MD or WV. There are papers and a receipt in Nicholas' Estate Papers which confirm this. Henry Shrider was in Pa and Frederick Co VA before moving onto Fincastle. Deeds in the Berkeley Co WV Courthouse prove this. Somewhere family legend or possibly the author of the Peck Genealogy, confused Elizabeth the mother with her daughter. The daughter married James Harvey.
