Rev. Willis Gess Downing

RESEARCHER: Information sent to T.Mason on 8 May 2006 by Steve Downing. "My Grandfather was Willis Gess Downing. Willis married Luella Spires, daughter of James Albert Spires and Ella Vollers. They had three children: Willis Gess Downing Jr.(b. 1928), Charles Edward Downing(b. 1930), and Luella Ruth Downing (b. 1932). He was a Baptist minister in Arizona and Idaho. He and his family moved to Long Beach in the late 1930's and he and my grandmother lived there for the rest of their lives.
