Funeral Services Conducted Friday For J. M Holland

Mr. J. M. Holland died 8-4 in Fort Worth where he moved in 1922 from Hood County. Mr. Holland was born in Athens Alabama 6-29-1859. He was married about 1883 to Miss Callie Jones. To this union there where six brothers and six sisters all whom survive. They are Milton and Tom, Davidson OK; Will, Calif.; Claude and George, Granbury; John, Big Spring; Mrs Lillian McPherson, Mrs. Lula Ellis, Ft. Worth; Mrs Lizzie Howard, Hubbard; Mrs. Lola Sargent, San Antonio; Mrs Lila Hayworth, Big Spring. His wife also survives him. Forty two grandchildren and lots of friends.

He was a successful Hood County farmer for a number of years before moving to Ft. Worth. He has been in ill health for about two years. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Nubbin Ridge by Rev. Van P. Morrison of Waxahachie. M.C. Morrison of Handley had charge of the Mansonic service. Mr. Holland was a member of the Methodist church for forty two years.
